My customer purchased new computers with xp home installed.  They needed xp
pro for its networking support.   I purchased an xp upgrade and upgraded to
xp pro.  We are having all kinds of issues with IE, accessing the internet
and exchange.  Can xp be upgraded this way.

according to microsoft, yes. according to me, not a good idea. when you
upgrade you import all the trash that was in the old OS. it may even corrupt
a few files....your best bet it to format the drive and do a clean solo
install...
