Cant repair winxp

My computer wont boot up, so I want to run a repair, but
there is no repair option when booting off the cd, I have
been able to do so in the past.

Is there a way to force a repair ?
What file does the cd look for to perform a repair ?

Restart computer with xp cd installed,boot from cd,
then press r in the info selection.What options does the
cd offer when booting from xp cd?For other options go
to search at microsoft,type:314058
