Computer won't boot from CD

Help!  My computer has crashed and will not re-start.  It
will not boot from the Windows XP CD!  What do I do now?

The error message at start up says I'm missing or have
corrupted windows/system32/config/system.  

Safe mode and other start up options do not work.
