I keep getting the following Fatal Error Message while
trying to upgrade from Windows ME to XP (Home Edition):
Setup Cannot Continue. Contact Microsoft Technical
Support. (Error: 3E6h).  I tried all the applicable
resolutions suggested in the Microsoft Knowledge Base
Article 311442, including renaming the startup settings,
clean boot, and removing peripherals, but I'm still
getting the same Fatal Error message.  What else can I do?

Hello,

Maybe you could reformat your hard drive to delete Win ME
from it and start anew?  I did that for my hard drive
becuase I didn't want any problems with my new
installation of Win XP Pro, plus there were some
problmatic files on it.
