Used the cd to load after re-format of harddrive. Will
not go past Installing windows at 39 min on interface.
Tells me Error: Intallation failed : D:\I386\asm.   Error
Message says The volume for a file has been externally
altered so the open file is no longer valid. This is a
new install has no other os and is not connected to
internet. What do I do now.  Seems like it should be the
same as a new computer put the power on boot through the
cd and load the os.  Why didn't microsoft put enough
information on the cd to load the os? Computer has enough
power, but is running an athalon processor. It Was a home
built I did two years ago. Thanks for any advise.
