manifest parse error

Had this error message during install, SXS.DLL Syntax
error in manifest or policy file "E\1386\asms\6000
\MFST\windows\common\controls\ controls.man on line 0
Can't go any further with install, can anybody help?

Are you using an original CD?
That error is usually associated with a badly burned CD.
Otherwise clean the CD and drive.
