Gonna reformat and reinstall XP Home. I am the only user, and not on
any network. Only use internet, no other networking. Don't want any
kind of remote sharing.

Currently in Docs & Settings, there is...ADMINISTRATOR, ALL USERS, MY
NAME FILE, LOCAL SERVICE, NETWORK SERVICE & LOCAL SETTINGS.

I understand I NEED to have ADMINISTRATOR, amd MY NAME FILE.

1. Do I need ALL USERS, LOCAL SERVICE, NETWORK SERVICE & LOCAL
SETTINGS? I prefer NOT to have any more entries in Docs & Settings than
I absolutely have to have. They to me, are just something to
complicate everything.

2. For some reasons, after I have deleted various folders (other than
ADMINISTRATOR) in Docs & Settings, they will come back!?!?!? Why is
this happening?

1) ALL USERS has to be there. SOme applications (like Media Player, etc)
use it. Although you don't have multiple users, you have a Multiple User
OS. You will have to deal with this. If you think that it is complicated,
change your file settings back to where it hides systems files. You will
still see default user and all users, administrator and yourself - but the
others should disappear - to your eyes. Plus, getting rid of them isn't
going to help you any nor save you enough space to be useful.

2) Because they are being used by something you installed or by Windows
itself. You should not mess with Documents and Settings unless you
understand what you are doing or have done your research first.

Thanks Shenan,

The reason I want get rid if unnecessary folders is that XP puts all
kinds of junk in these unwanted files, and WHEN I want to delete files,
I have to search all the unwanted folders to see if something has been
put there without me knowing it.

XP is the worst OS I have ever used. Totally BLOATWARE, without any
redeeming value to me.
