Boot Sector virus

Uninstalled xp, tried to reinstall XP, 98 and ME and after setup began, screen says boot sector write virus, and halts setup.  Norton did not clean, McAfee same, diasbled bios virus protect, still no change.  Help

From DOS:  FDISK /MBR

it looks like you can rebuild your MBR and get rid of it

Thanks to both of you...I'll report back after fix to let those who have had similar problem know what happened... which I'm sure is many!
