I have the German Win XP Home Edition already installed on my PC. Is it possible to install the english Win XP professional edition on either a partitioned disk or a separate drive as well? Will this create conflict with my German version?

Yes, you can do as you described without conflict.  XP will
automatically configure a dual-boot loader for you.
