Hello,

I use a Acer Aspire 5670 Notebook with Windows XP Home since 2 years without
problems.

When I start it the 1st March 2008, the Windows start normally asking for
password
but the desktop was empty : no icons, no taskbar, no right clic avaliable

I could only launch the Tak Manager (CTRL ALT DEL)

If I try to lauch manually EPLORER.EXE trough the Task Manager,
I could find it in Windows directory
but when I launch it error message :
Windows don't find Explorer.exe

I try again
I try to register it without success

2) I install a fresh Windows XP Home on the existant
as UPDATE using the I386 directory on the Acer Notebbok :
all updarte was completed without error messages
but after all restarting the result is the same

Do you have a idea about this Windows XP Problem ?

Thanks for your help

I wonder if something in one of Microsoft's updates early this year has
caused Explorer.exe to become more prone to crashing?  I have used and
serviced computers for years and have never seen so many Explorer crashes as
I have seen recently on four different computers--three running XP Pro and
one running XP Home.  Yes, I can bring the desktop and task bar icons back
with a restart, but this seems to me like too much of a coincidence for it to
be happening to so many computers all at the same time (late March-present).

Any MVPs out there with an idea?

Thanks!
