I tried to update to SP3 and now I can only boot in the safe mode. Otherwise
I just have a circular restart to restart without booting to XP

PLEASE HELP!

Try uninstalling SP3 then do a disk cleanup, defrag, and clean out temp
files. Make sure all virus programs are shut down and then try reinstalling
SP3.

thank you..I used system restore from SAFE mode and now I am back to XP SP2.
Am a bit afraid of another attempt at SP3. Any soothing suggestions on how
to start over.

Some people are having better luck downloading the exe manually and
installing manually.   Rather than letting WU do it.

You can reinstall SP3 in safe mode or in clean boot of your system.
