Hi.  I went ahead and installed a second hard drive the other day and
installed a program, only to end up deleting the partition the program was
installed on, I meant to do that. Obviously, when I went to reinstall the
program, the only option I have is to uninstall, but it comes back saying it
can not find the necessary files, etc.  I can clearly understand why I'm
having this problem, and in hindsight, I should have taken the time to go
back and gracefully uninstalled the program before making the changes.  Now
that I have slapped myself with a wet noodle, how can I let the computer
know that the file no longer exists and reinstall?  Thanks.

Locate a utility that would let you access the registry section which you can
remove the entry for this application.  Spybot: Search and Destroy does have a
module to clean up the uninstall section.

For what it's worth, I "explored" the files on the CD the program was on and
run the install from there, all is fine now, thanks for everyone's help!

So using this app cd, doesnt give you the option to install or repair?
You might be able to use the MS Installer clean up utility

Thanks to all that answered.  No, when I put the CD in, it just give me the
option to uninstall, which I choose, but the little demoshield box comes on
then nothing happens.  I ran a registry cleaner a little while ago, but that
didn't seem to fix it.

yeah,

when you deleted
the parent folder,
the keys for the
software were
orphaned in the
registry.

just run a registry
cleaner.
