After installing SP3 I have lost all sound. I have checked various message
boards and it seems to be a common problem but no one seems to have a fix
for it. Any help would be appreciated

Open device mgr, expand the sound tree,R.click all of the sound hardware
one @ a time,select:uninstall  (do not restart after each),once
thru,exit,shutdown
pc..If you have a add-in sound card,move card to another slot,restart pc,xp
will reinstall on restart. If all else fails,go to run, type:DXDIAG  Run the
Direct X
sound tests..
