Messenger off computer

I uninstalled the old Windows Messenger off my computer by way of the 'add
remove windows components' and another method.  Windows Messenger is still
in the  Services program.  Is there a way to get it completely off?

I believe you are mistaken in what you are seeing...  (or assuming.)

Windows Messenger and the Messenger service are not the same thing.
