I had posted a question about how to copy Macrovision Protected VHS tapes
to DVD.
My VCR is hooked up to the Graphics and Audio card of my computer and I do
have Capture software, I was JUST having a problem with Copy Protected Tapes,
even though I owned them, I was unable to copy them.
One poster said I did not have the RIGHTS, on the contary, under the
Freedom of Use Law, I do have the Rights.
Anyways, other posters sent me searching for a product and I found one and
I will share with you what I found.
I am in no way connected to this company, but their product worked
falwlessly and was very inexpensive.

I am now able to copy my fading VHS Collection to DVD and enjoy another 20
to 30 years of Movies.

Thats really quite impossible to have that happen with normal software
running.Pitch the software youre useing,so long as youre video card has up
to date drivers or youre tv capture card has the drivers for it.Download the
WM encoder 9 series,get the utilitys also,all but adobe,unless you use
that.The
encoder + WMCAP utility will let you view and record anything youre line-in
is
playing.Actually it has no policy for protected video,only cds and dvds
played thru
youre computer.

Thanks decoder, no software is going to eliminate the Video output from
triggering the graphics card into halting the process. I hooked the device I
refer to, to the Video output of the VCR and then ran a cable from the device
to my Graphics card and everything is Clear, Stable and NO protection. Works
great.

I am lost, whatever are talking about? what is impossible? I have been
making DVD for some time and I just bought a inexpensive device to let be
copy my Macrovison protected VHS tapes. I have NO clue to what you are
referring to. My software is just fine and has been doing a superb job.
The Macrovision was triggering my graphics card to giving me a blank screen
and saying unable to copy protected VHS. Are you saying that utility would
eliminate the Macrovision and give me a stable video output with no
variations in the Contrast?
It was the Graphics card that was halting the process NOT the software, so
I am confused how software would prevent the Graphics card from stopping the
process. The VCR is hooked directly to the graphics card and NOT the software.
Please advise, I tried everything prior to getting this device and made my
post only to relay on to others what works. I have used it and it works great.
