I have an HP m260n Media Center Computer.
I have a VCR hooked up to the "TV" input.  I have made DVDs from this VCR
several times
using Movie Maker and MyDVD software.
Now neither of these applications can detect the signal from my VCR.
The TV player in media center detects it fine and plays videos great.
I could use the Media Center TV to save my movies from the VCR but it will
implant the name of the program that would be on local TV at that time.
I have not been able to keep it from doing this.
I have completely reinstalled all the programs after formating the HD.
Would love to get the Movie Maker and MyDVD working or get the
names of the TV programs off the recorded tapes.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

You first need to stop the Media Center part and use Windows Movie Maker or
other third party analog capture software... I think it's ehrecvr.exe that
you need to stop in Task Manager but check in the Media Center newsgroups.

On second thought....

It might be a better approach if
you search Google Groups for...
         view .rar files
You may find some better advice.

Here's a link the the search:
