Video Playback Problem

i capture things through my firewire to avi. but for the past week or so all
the files i have captured arnt reconised by the computer and i have already
downloaded the codecs again and that didnt solve the issue help appreciated

With which application are you capturing the video?

In which application are you trying to view the video?

A DV-AVI file does not need codecs other than those already included in XP.

i am using(noramlly)dv capture by moo gear but i have also attempted using
adobe premiere pro and movie maker 2 and i try to view the files with windows
media player(which i have reinstalled verison 10)

Try using Window Movie Maker to capture the DV-AVI and see if that works.
Just to check, only capture a short sample.... like 5 minutes or so.

Let us know what happens.

Have you installed anything else just before it went wrong? I'm thinking
codec packs or apps which play compressed videos for teh net like divX, all
of which can cause mayhem and if so it may be best to use system restore and
get to a point before installing them and try again.
