Hi. Recently replaced a "full" 60GB HD with a 320GB HD. Using Western
Digital's Data Lifeguard tools, I copied everything from the old drive to
the new. After some minor issues, the Dell PC with Windows XP SP2 boots from
the new drive - the old drive has been removed. Everything boots/runs
exactly as it should with one exception: I just discovered that System
Restore is not working. Am getting this message..
RUNDLL
An exception error occurred while trying to run
"C:\WINDOWS\System32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL"C:\WINDOWS\system32\sysdm.cpl",System
Seems like an odd file name. Is this a DRM issue? Related to the hard drive
swap? WD not very eager to help. Didn't see anything specific on the
Microsoft site, although I could have missed it.
Any thoughts? Thank, Joe

I'll give it a shot. Thanks PA Bear. Regarding your TIP, maybe that will
eliminate those double lines in my original post. Joe

If you're still checking this post, PA Bear, just wanted you to know that I
can access System Restore again, and that I can actually restore back to a
restore point. The fix: reinstalled system restore as noted below (which
partially fixed the problem) then turned system restore off, then back on
again (also suggested below.) Everything is working normally. Thanks for the
help. Joe
