How do I read a prefetch file?  I know one of three drivers in the Kaspersky
software program is bad.  I started the driver verifier and it caught the
culprit.  I have been going back and forth with them doing the same thing
over and over, with the same result...and we know that that is.

I think it is now finally going to be escalated to 3rd level support..... so
how do I figure out how to read the prefetch file to figure out which of the
three it is...

without the software I have no BSODs at all... with the software when it's
running.... BSODs  galore...

Thanks!

Kelly,

I'm sorry, but that wasn't the question that I was asking.  Duh...that would
be the obvious answer...Let's just toss the software.    For the moment it is
removed.

Getting rid of the software is not an option. I prefer the Kaspersky over
Norton.  I hadn't had any problems with them until the most recent upgrade to
7.0.1.325.

From what I understand the prefetch file is in binary.  How do I read it to
find the culprit driver? Is there an MS interface to download to read these
files.

Can someone please help?

Best regards and thanks!

NO, delete the PREFETCH file, it will be recreated.

No to what?

I want to find from the driver files I selected which one is the
culprit..... so how do I do that with the prefetch files?

no prefetch files have been deleted and with the exception of a couple..I
didn't have any until I started the verifier dot exe... as I was trying to
ferret out this problem.

Thanks!
