The apoint.exe starts in the taskbar after every reboot.

This just started I believe after trying to install a ftp viewer. Do you know
how to stop it from appearing in the taskbar.

Use System Restore to recover to a point before you tried to intall the
viewer.

Have you looked in its preferences?
