Trying to schedule a simple reminder to exercise my HP color inkjet printer
every Friday.  I plan on doing this by having Task Scheduler open a Notepad
text file every Friday.  The Task Scheduler Wizard seems to require a
password be entered before the "reminder" Task can be successfully added to
the Task list.  This in turn requires that I enter my password everytime I
boot-up, which I don't want to have to do as this is a single user home
computer.   How can I get around this roadblock?

You can get around it by getting WinXP to log you on
automatically:
- Click Start / Run / control userpasswords2{Enter}
- Untick the box that requires users to enter a password
  and click OK.
- Enter your password when prompted.

Added info:

Running Scheduled Tasks without a password:

For Pro:  Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Local Security
Policy/Local Policies/Security options. In the right hand pane (third down).

Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only.
This is enabled by default, disable it.
