GTA IV Freezes up

Sometimes I can play it for a half hour, sometimes it doesn't even get past
the opening screens and then it freezes. I have put other games in system and
they work fine. I cleared my cache so memory isn't a issue.
Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

This is not a Windows XP problem.

You have two options. Return the game and claim your money back. The
product is clearly faulty. The alternative is to wait for Rockstar to
provide a fix. The problem has been obvious now for over 3 weeks. I may
be mistaken but there seem to have been no acknowledgement of the
problem by Rockstar Games.
