How the h would we know here? This is a peer-to-peer support group, not
Microsoft. Besides, your question indicates a very rudimentary
understanding of the issue, which lies squarely with the images created and
deployed by the OEMs. The exact same issue, btw, which existed with Service
Pack 2.
You can read about the issue in detail at the link below by the brilliant
Jesper Johannson. Jesper has also written a tool which you can run first to
prevent issues if you have an OEM machine (not just an HP) with an AMD
processor.

Apparently MS is going to have some kind of check or update for those
with HP and AMD systems prior to it installing SP3. What that is
remains to be seen. There is a utility that you can use that will prep

If you automatically receive and install HP's updates, HP has released an
update for the problem. Depending on when your PC was bought, it may not even
have the problem. So Automatic Update may now accept your PC.

That's good info to know. Is there a direct download to the update as
