I just reinstalled Windows XP on my Dell PC.

In my old setup I had established two network drives pointing to folders on
my PC. But when I open Windows Explorer and choose Tools/Map Network
Drive/Browse I can't navigate to any folders on my machine or my home network.

This worked before... what could be the problem now?

Correction... I can navigate to some folders but the "OK" button goes grey.

You need to enable Printers and File sharing on yout DELL PC.  First Open the
systems Firewall module by going to: Start, Control Panel, Security Center.  Then
select Windows Firewall.  In exception Tab, make sure Printer and File Sharing is
ticked.

Then OK it and close the control panel.

Then right click on the folder you want to share with people on the network.
Select Properties and click on Sharing Tab.  Tick the appropriate items on this
tab and then Click OK to finish.

Hope this gives you a start.

I just figured out the solution. I have Norton Internet Security and I had to
fix some settings in the NIS network map. This then allowed me to map network
drives.
