windows xp starting error "system32/ntoskernal.exe"  Please re-ins

when i start windows xp it shows the following error message.
system32/ntoskernl.exe
file is corrupt.
please reinstall fresh copy of it.

what is this problem is. should i have to reinstall the windows xp. Or their
is any other alternate to this problem.
