I have winXPpro.  (from Dell)

I have a USB speaker and onboard sound card.

when I go into control panel/sound  I can't select the USB Device for the
speaker section, I can pick it for the microphone, but not speakers.

I disabled the onboard sound card (as it will only play music through the
onboard speaker) restarted teh computer, and still nothing.
I went into device manager, uninstalled teh usb sound device, restarted,
still nothing

there aren't any driveers for teh speakers as it is suppose to be plug and
play.

any ideas?

Talk to the manufactor of the speakers, my thinking is that without drivers,
how is windows supposed to know what kind of device is plugged in to the USB
port?
sound is not regularly routed via USB, so there has to be some kind of drivers
