Nonny,
Thank you for the reply.
When the article says "you have a later version of Jet 4.0", I don't
understand whether it means "Jet 4.0 is already installed on your
computer", or whether it means "you have the setup package for Jet 4.0
on your product CD". When the article says "We recommend that you
install the latest service pack for Windows XP", I don't know if it
means "you can install Jet by installing the service pack", or whether
it means "before installing Jet, you should bring your OS up-to-date".
I did not rush through the article. I read it slowly, but did not
understand it. If someone helps with a simple yes or no answer to my
question, it will resolve a lot of uncertainty for me.

Is English your primary language?
It means that you have the latest available version for your operating
system. Simple.
In case that isn't enough: version 4 is older than the one you
currently have installed.

Nonny,
Once again, thank you for the reply. I'm not sure why, but I perceive
you are trying to avoid giving me a direct answer. Would I be correct
to infer that you believe <<Yes -- Windows includes the Jet
components>>?

HOLY CRAP!! How freaking direct can I be!??
Let me try again.
FREAKING FORGET about downloading 4.0.
Your XP has everything it needs right now.

TC,
The answer to your question is YES. Windows includes the Jet components.
I applaud your patience with Nonny, but you should ignore jerks like him --
He's obviously more interested in flaming you than in providing an answer.

His patience with ME??
The dork can't read plain English and comprehend its meaning.

When someone plainly says they don't understand, what part of that don't you
understand???
comprehension is different to each individual.

By answering his question, idiot. English must be your fourth language,
at best. If you should ever break down and answer him, I won't see it.
People like you are the ones who give the Web a bad name.
