Hi,

This error occurs everytime i open a drive where my multimedias are.
specifically the videos with extensions *.AVI and *.mpeg. When i open up my
drive and folder this error pops up at least six (6) times. "Fatal Error:
Installation corrupted - please reinstall nero".  I have already installed
and uninstalled and then re-installed the program again and again but the
notification error still appears. It even appears when I had already
uninstalled the program. I think it has corrupted my registry during
installation process but i dont know where to look for it. Any ideas are
surely appreciated.

Hi "db.·.. ><))) ·>,
I forgot to mention that im using a Windows XP Home Edition and the cleaner
you suggested is for Windows Vista. Do you have any other suggestions?

well the premise of
my suggestion is based
on the possibility the
registry hive contains
corrupted keys for
the nero product.

so it might simply be
a reasonable idea to
clean out everything
that contains "nero"
in the registry.

most often an automatic
registry cleaner will
reconcile thousands
of keys to the files
on the disk and delete
the keys that do not
reconcile.

so it would help to do
a disk search for "nero"
and delete all the files
and folders before hand.

------------------

there is a cleaner for
vista and is accessed
via "whats new" at
the link i provided.

however, the page
that the link takes
you to also has the
appropriate "download"
button which will
initiate the cleaner
for winxp.

----------------

if the automatic cleaners
do not seem to resolve
the problem, then you
could run regedit or
a third party program
like regseeker and find
and delete everything
for "nero".
---------------

another suggestion
would be to get
help from the nero
people as they will
be knowledgeable as
to some if not all of
the issues their software
can encounter.

ps: don't forget to
do a restore point
before you modify
the registry and reboot
after the reg is modified.

incidentally, the
download button i
mentioned is for
the trial ware.

but i meant to the
"full scan" button
located on that
one care link.

Get Nero 7 CleanTool here:
http://www.nero.com/eng/support-nero7-tools-utilities.html

(You may need to use IE to properly see the page).

Don't use registry cleaners on your machine unless you *fully*
understand the registry, registry cleaners can cause more harm than good!
