Because my unit startup in Windows XP is frustratingly slow I have been
trying to cleanup the few things I know that effect the startup. In the
process there is a Quicktime icon in the area of the toolbar next to the
clock, I think it is called the system tray. I can right click on the icon
and select exit and the icon disappears but at the next startup it's there
again. Long ago I have been through the procedure to remove programs from
that area of the toolbar but that process escapes me now and so far I have
not found any instructions anywhere that address that procedure. I was unable
to find anything labeled Quicktime in either Add or Remove Programs or in
Start - All Programs. When I did a Search for Quicktime, the result said it
was in C:Programs. When I went to C:Programs I found a Quicktime folder but
in it was only one entry and it was neither .exe or uninstall. Would anyone
have any idea what may be going on? Also any suggestions about where to find
instructions for finding what all starts at Startup and how to adjust what
all starts at Startup will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, K.
