Windows Installer Pop-Up Problem

I am using Windows XP, SP3 and WMP 11.  All are up to date with the
most recent updates.

Every time I start Windows, the Windows Installer box pops up saying
"the feature you are trying to use is in a networ resource that is
unavailable".  I have to click on cancel numerous times to cancel
before it goes away.

This also happens when I start WMP but goes away when I close WMP.  If
I want to view a video file, this is annoying and I have to click
multiple times to get rid of it.

I don't have any programs waiting to be installed, as far as I know
and can't find anything listed either in start-up or services.

I don't know what else to check and would appreciate any suggestions.
I can't find this problem listed on the Microsoft website and am
unable to post a question in the forums, even though I'm signed in.

Help please!
