I have a 80 GB HDD. I want to install windows 98 in it. Can I use FDISK
command from the win 98 booting floppy ( I have read that for HDD > 64GB, it

I installed a 20G HDD in my Windows 98se computer. With one partition,
I formatted it. The results is 16K byte clusters. With a FAT32 system,
a 32 bit number ("index") can represent around 4.3G. This in effect should
allow around 4 billion clusters maximum.

I have most programs working now, except the url shortcuts I place

I have inherited a Panasonic Toughbook CF 25 with a 1.4 GB hard driv
and a floppy drive only. It has a parallel port for printer but no US
port. It's pretty old. It has no OS. Can I install Windows 98? And i
so how?

I have one machine with 2 network card. One card is connected to
highspeed modem and the other to a router, connected to 2 other computers.
When the router is connected, I cannot go on line. When the router is
disconnected( remove cable), I can go online.

When I start system in SAFE Mode I still have the problem. However, using
Win98SE ScanDisk / Defrag I do get the message "Scan Disk Cannot Continue
Because A Program Such As A Disk Utility Has Locked This Drive. Close The
Program Or Wait For It To Finish, Then Restart ScanDisk" ...

bought a 1GB stick of RAM for a Dell computer that matches the specs of my
motherboard perfectly. The RAM is recognized fine by XP and Ubuntu. When I

Now I also have a Vista computer. I had to install the drivers on the 98 for
the printer, and it works just fine on the Vista. But now I can't use the

searches so far have revealed only one (overpriced) option.
My backup plan is to install Cygwin and use their lpr utility, but it
seems like somebody somewhere would have written a native-Windows utility...

uninstalling software that came with Windows, Star Office 5.0. When I insert
the eMachine cd then do 1. Restore format HDD it seems to work then a very
brief error message "can't crate extraction dir", then ...
