I have a 80 GB HDD. I want to install windows 98 in it. Can I use FDISK command from the win 98 booting floppy ( I have read that for HDD > 64GB, it does not display correct HDD size ) ? What should be the max. size of a partition that FAT32 can support ?

I installed a 20G HDD in my Windows 98se computer. With one partition, I formatted it. The results is 16K byte clusters. With a FAT32 system, a 32 bit number ("index") can represent around 4.3G. This in effect should allow around 4 billion clusters maximum.

I have inherited a Panasonic Toughbook CF 25 with a 1.4 GB hard driv and a floppy drive only. It has a parallel port for printer but no US port. It's pretty old. It has no OS. Can I install Windows 98? And i so how?

When I start system in SAFE Mode I still have the problem. However, using Win98SE ScanDisk / Defrag I do get the message "Scan Disk Cannot Continue Because A Program Such As A Disk Utility Has Locked This Drive. Close The Program Or Wait For It To Finish, Then Restart ScanDisk" ...
