my computer recognizes my modem ... the modem is set to
dial the correct number .... it dials the number then will
not connect to my provider.  How can I fix this?

Thanks to a pop-up from Microsoft Windows Update,
installed IE 6.0 SP1 on WinNT SP6a machine (old Toshiba
laptop). Now getting NTDETECT.EXE and MSIMN.EXE blowing up
with protection violations. Uninstall results in fall back

Trying to install SP1, after download, and I get error
msg "Close all applications and try again", I have close
all Application except Window Explorer and Systray and
still get same msg. Help

download and disk. Both install about 2% then jump to
about 80%. I then get message saying that "installation
incomplete, could not install some files, reboot, try

The Original temp directory for IE was
C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
After upgrading to IE6 it changed to

when i disconnect from the internet, my computer will not
shut down. it locks up on the window showing windows is
shutting down.

removed as a home page when i sign on to internet
explorer. i have to go to msn.com, how do i keep the
yahoo program from coming up automatically? Help!!
