Every time I change my default homepage for IE, it reverts to a different one whenever I shut down (it goes to global- finder.com). I've changed it in options but it continues to revert.....any ideas?

IE5 doesn't show up in Add/Remove programs. Am I supposed to remove it before installing IE6? If so, how do I remove it manually? What will happen if I don't uninstall it first?
