Can IE 6 be set to NOT reposition the History list or to
NOT close a History sub-folder when the Refresh button is hit?
I keep links to stock graphs and quotations on my History
list in a sub-folder, and when I Refresh the display, the History

I don't know if I am in the right newsgroup. I want to
stop those pesky pop up adds. I have a firewall and
privacy etc. but the pop up contain sexually explicite
invitations. I don't want my kids to even read the adds.

In trying to update Java VM I was unsuccessful in windows
update (not being a downloadable option)and with install
on demand (automatic window). How can I do this on WIN XP
PRO, IE 6.

I am running Windows XP Professional.  When I run the
setup file and it completes the download from the
download site, it fails to install past 17%.  It comes up
with the following message:

Do not have outlook express as option for mail, onlu
microsoft outlook...Can't email from browser.
outlook express will allow me to choose it as default
email program, but doesn't save it.

After downloading IE6 on my windows 2000 server and then
installing IE6 service pack1 , and q822925 , q818529
hotfixes . when i restarted the system, i couldnt open the
Add\Remove programs applett from the control panel.

Every time I try to updrade to IE6, I cannot access the
Internet. Messengers work, but I cannot access any
websites. I always have to revert back to IE5. I'm trying
to install Norton 2003, but it requires the upgrade to

(netscape navigator), I was taught to delete my cache
periodically.  Now, I'm on at&t internet explorer and I

Win 98, IE 6, OE 6, Outlook 98 all on system. Did a number

Partway through the "Installing Internet Explorer 6 Web
Browser" stage, this error popup appears:
"The software you are installing has not passed Windows

How do I stop the dial-up connection box from starting
each time I start windows 98. I am prompted to connect to
the internet each time windows starts. Have recently
upgraded from IE 5.0.
