Working on friend's computer, has me baffled.
Can't get into chat room that requires Java.
Can't find any trace that VM is installed, however using

I have Windows 98 and something has happened when I try to
download off of the Internet.  When I select the download
button the box pops up for a second and immediately
closes.  I don't even have time to select "save"

They work in IE6 offline (i.e. gifs on my hard drive), but those same gifs
pointed at online do not animate. They only show one frame.
I installed Mozilla Firebird to test it out a couple of weeks ago, and the
same links in there animate fine.

Using Windows ME - computer freezes every time I try to
delete the temporary Internet files. I cannot delete
either by using Start/Explore & highlight the folder &
then the files & delete. Any idea how to get around this?

Whenever I try to download any file, a new window pops up
but it is blank with a small square in upper left corner
that has shapes in it. It also says "done" at bottom left
as if it had downloaded  but I find nothing. Any thoughts?

I run windows XP w/ IE 6. I use to have Weatherbug, and I
use to use MySearch bar. On search engines like Yahoo,
MSN, and Google, I can't use the search portions to look
