I am trying to raise the security levels on internet

Since yesterday, slowly over time I end up with mulitple
copies of Iexplore running according the close program
box, which eats up my memory and resources until
eventually the computer locks up.  I have latest McAfee

I can't open the "Homepage"tab in the "General" tab to
change my homepage. All the other options are available
just not that one. How do I reconfigure this to be able to

I have come across a peculiar address bar problem. When ever l enter an
address directly in the address bar and select go/enter my computer freezes.
Additionally, this problem is present when attempting use windows explorer

i have a system (win98) that in normal mode cannot have any folders opened
up.  and they all blame inetexplorer.
when i first try to open up any window (folder, or internet explorer) i
first get a msg that says:

How do I delete the history from the address bar?  I
have "Cleared History" which works for the history folder
but not for the address bar.  I have also tried hitting
the delete key but that does not work also.

My home page keeps resetting to C:\searchpage.html
Any ideas. I've seen several replies to similar problems
but when I try to go to the link I get a blank page that
says C:\searchpage.html.
