What is happening when you have a kernel32.dll problem? It only seems to

While I am trying to install IE6, the setup programme is trying download
some component from web it shows msg of "............Setup may have been

I installed 6.0 (SP1) on both of our computers, one on
Windows 98 and the other on XP (which I'm understanding now
comes installed on xp) .... neither of them work.... can't

I had to reformat my drive and had my favorites on located on a 2nd drive
and it worked perfectly.  I can't remember how to import those favorites.
When I click on file, import ... it only lets me select one file ... it's
making me crazy.
