Hi, I've lost the 'show desktop' icon I had in the Quick Launch part of the
toolbar at the bottom of my desktop. Does anyone know how I can get it back?

what does it mean when you get Microsoft visual c++
runtime library?  Its happening all the time I go onto
the internet.

My 'links' positioning is in the URL ribbon??  You have to click on it to
see those links. Which seems to defeat the purpose completely (you might as
well just have them as favourties)

My IE will not start if I click the icon on my desktop or
on my toolbar.  I even tried clicking the icon in the
programs folder to no avail.  I get an hourglass for a
second then nothing.  

I wish to start my homepage at BLANK but I keep getting
other webpages butting in.  How can I get rid of these
other pages for good?

Hope this is an appropriate group for my query. I have Win XP Home and IE6. Something appears to have downloaded itself to my PC and
keeps changing my home page from blank to res://mshp.dll/index.html#27859. I'm also getting annoying popups with "Only the best" in

When I double click the Internet Explorer icon, the
pointer becomes an hourglass momentarily and then goes
back to a regular pointer w/o running explorer.  I've
tried reinstalling internet explorer but this did not

I have an end user that, when viewing misc web pages, sees
parts of the web pages displayed in huge text while other
parts of the page are normal. The same sites can be
visited by anyone else in the office w/no problems.

My home page keeps reverting to the IE default of
www.microsoft.com.  Even if I change the default home
page for IE in the registry to something else, there is
some startup process that keeps changing it back.  

I have been trying for two days, to upgrade to either
Internet Explore 5.5 SP2 or Internet Explore 6.0 SP1
and I keep getting this message:

A while ago, I clicked on a pop-up window by accident as
it appeared in front of a web page I was viewing (it was
something about cheap DVDs). I ended up at www.123-
mania.com which is a rather dodgy looking search site.

I changed internet providers from our local gas/electric
company to AOL.  When I click on the Internet Explorer
icon, I get a prompt that says there is no connection.  
However, when I am logged into AOL, minimize the screen,

Everytime I do a search the results on the new page are minimized , is there a way to set it up to have the new page become the main page?

can anyone help with a problem I've encountered?  I went
to an IQ Test link recently which proved to be expensive,
so I left.  Next thing I know, my Internet Explorer Tools
Menu and Toolbar have two new links/buttons on them.  One

I need help in stopping the auto complete that appears
when you type in a letter or word in a search box and
another box appears under the search which allows you to
pick other terms used before.
