At one time I could change my Proxy settings. Now they are greyed out. It
still shows the orginaly settings. How can I get the proxy settings ungreyed?

When I click on a link or the 'back' or 'forward' button, IE 6 makes a
click sound.  I found it to be noisy.  How can I disable it?

I want to reinstall IE6 because of problems with the
security settings (i think they are corrupted) but
whenever i try to install IE SP1 it stops me because I
have a newer version. Is there any way to force an

Can I use the HOSTS file to limit the agent's browing to a
small handful of sites?

When accessing a page which contains a .pdf file, nothing
is displayed.  I had a single response from Acrobat that
there was a setup problem and that was all.  
As it stands I cannot display pages with Acrobat files.
