Why does IE hangs when trying to open a link in a new Window?05 Nov 2004 13:34 GMT4
My Browser hangs when I try to open a link than open a new window or when I
open IE from a link in Outlook Express.
I have tried to re-install Explorer as well as the 6 SP2 service pack to no
avail.

I've just installed Service Pack 2. When I sart up Internet explorer I'm
getting some sort of 'media' toolbar at the bottom of the screen (contains
links to other info like travel, money etc.). I've not seen it described
anywhere and can't find any way of stopping it displaying ...

I just converted to WinXP Pro SP 2 , IE 6.0 and there are certain sites I
wish to see the pop ups.  So I put them on the allow list BUT...now when I go
there and the pop up (or child window) comes up...it almost immediately
dissappears, as if it is still blocked.  I am at my wits ...

since for some reason I seem to have 6% less disk space then normally, I
installed a program to analyze the data.
I noticed that "Internet Explorer" is using 572 MB on my machine, 571 MB is
used for a folder named C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\USMT2.UNC.

I have IE 6 with XPpro SP2 and I'm trying to get used to the new IE
popup blocker.  One of the sites I visit regularly uses popups, and
seemed not be be working.  When I closed IE, a window popped up asking
if I had noticed the Information Bar.  I hadn't, and then realized that

I run Acrobat version 5 for creating pdf files.  However, it has also taken
over display of pdf files within IE6.  As the two do not coexist happily, I
would much rather use the acrobat reader to display the pdf files.  I've
looked in the registry for entries tht might affect this, ...

Internet Explorer 6.0 is not available for the Macintosh. Are there any
solutions out there that will enable an Internet Explorer 6.0 only internet
application to run on the Macintosh ?

I noticed that accessing add and remove via control panel, that IE Explorer 6
is cheked as if all options are currently installed; yet the size or space
used is zero. I believe this happened subsequent to SP2 installation. All
seems fine but it is odd that it shows not taking up ...
