How can I make sure that my internet explorer is up to date. This question is because when I run some programs, they don't run because the internet does not support it. Would you please let me know what can I do? Tks.

When I begin the installation of IE6 and it gets to "installing IE6 to your web browser" I get a error message which says " setup was unable to install all the components" This is after closing all background running programmes.

I'm currently running Win 98se with IE 5.5 sp2 and everything is fine. But, I would like to upgrade to IE 6.0 sp1 to become current with updates & service packs. My question is this: Should I uninstall the 5.5 sp2 and full install IE6.0
