A pal needs help on this site
greetings fellow newsgroupers. I recently found a site called Microsoft
Forums. In a very short time I became very known to the site and its an
excellent tool. This guy who runs it is good too but needs a helping hand.

We have a condo that a few friends share (home away from home) it's wired for
CAT5.  However, we want to go high speed and we want to be wireless.  Most
just want to take their laptops in and power on and be on the Internet.  
Which is the best way to do this?

Running windows xp - just replaced HDD and motherboard and reinstalled win xp.
Now there is no IE listed in the programs menu. I did delete MSNIE because I
only use the basic IE. (never had this trouble when I delted the buttefly
before). Now the only way to get onto the internet ...

All web pages appear only in white. certain graphics are displayed in the
pages, but there are no background colors. Also submenus appear only in
white, causing the text contained within the submenu to overlap with the text
on the web page. very frustrating. PLEASE HELP.

I am installing a new PC and would like to copy over my autofill information
from my old machine to the new machine (from Office, IE, etc).  Both systems

After clearing up a major virus and spyware program I've sp2'd the xp
machine but now pages in internet explorer look weird. The fonts are

I have Windows XP is configured for 24hr time format, CMD command line
FTP shows time in 24hr format, other FTP applications show time in 24hr
format, but for some reason when FTPing IE6 shows file time in 12hr

I'll attempt to keep this as short as possible...
I defragged my Win98SE system, it did not finish and it locked up
computer...after rebooting I was not able to get back in, desktop flashed

My problem is that when I click on a link it opens in the same window thereby
making browsing very difficult. It used to have a box to click saying open in
new window and it was just set that way now I dont have that option. Anyone

When I click on the internet explorer and the internet comes up, an error
messaage comes up stating that an error has occured and the program has to
close. The only option that I have is to select is to send an error message
to MS Internet  Explorer or not, then it boots me out ...
