I just started having a problem with IE 6 that I can't figure out.   Before
when I had an IE window open, clicked on something that opened a new browser
window, the original window would stay open too.   Now as soon as the new
window opens, the original window closes.

I installed Windows XP SP2 pack on my home PC. It was installed successfully.
After that I am not able to browse any website using IE. I tried turning off
the Windows Firewall also , but still unable to browse.
I have IE6 and Windows SP Home Edition and using a ADSL connection.

i had to reinstall Windows XP (along with IE 6) when  my hard drive recently
crashed. Since the new install i can no longer "see" java programs---
The sites say  i need a java enabled browser. My old IE 6 had no problem.
I do not know where to go to enable the browser to run java ...

 I have IE 6 and everytime I print a web page I only get part of the page
to print.  I found under page setup the Paper size was set to envelope.  I
changed it to letter and then the page prints fine. But the Paper Size

Is there a way to have favoites displayed in a multi column format instead of
having to use the scrolling arrows? There's registry fix for the Wndows
program start menu list, I hope there's one for IE 6. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

I have 2 computers and I have installed the internet and a router on one.
However, when I went to install the usb router on the other it told me I need
IE 5.5 or newer. Does anyone know where I can burn an update for IE to put on
that computer? I am running 98SE on it.

A couple of months ago, before the patch came out fixing the active scripting
bug, my company enforced a group policy which disabled active scripting in
the internet zone.  As users, we had to add websites which we needed access
to and that used active scripting to our trusted ...

I did something that changed the format of my address bar, and I want to get
back to normal.
I now have a search box on my left and the address and go button on my
right.  I would rather not have the search box at all and have the address

I have been advised by SBC DSL to try resetting Internet Options > Security >
Restricted Sites to LOW in an effort to download Macromedia's Flash Player.  
Everyting we tried failed and after each effort when I clicked on Custom
Settings it showed the setting as HIGH once again.  ...

My address bar has disappeared!
I have tried the fixes I have found in this discussion forum:
1.  Right clicking on the toolbar and making sure address bar is checked.
2.  Resizing the toolbars to ensure the address bar is not hidden.

I'm using popular MS Internet Explorer (Ver 6 SP-2).  Now and then, I like
to save a reference copy of a web page.
Seems like, a while back, everyone said to do a "save as" and use
"filetype=mht", and then I'd get a 'single' file (not lots of folders and

I have Windows XP, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Netscape.
I am able to access Firefox and Netscape online.
However, when I boot up Internet Explorer, it boots up only in OFFLINE
mode only.
