whenever I open a new web page, a blank window of about:blank comes up and a new screen on the left of the web page opens as well. How do I get rid of this? Its irritating, and I don't remember changing anything to do this, so I don't know how to fix it. Thanks.

A friend of mine sent me an email together wite zip file as an attachement. When I right click the file name to save the file on my hard disk I get IE error that says internet explorer cannot download {the name of the file} . Why am I getting this error message.
