During backup work the file FAVORITS disappeared from my laptop. I put a copy of FAVORITS from an other PC on my laptop. But no FAVORITS are shown although the file is there. Who can help me with this problem?

I found out today that IE7 takes in account proxy settings from my active VPN connection and it does not take into consideration proxy settings of my LAN connection. What is the reason behind this?

When I connect to my office network, I am made to navigate all the way to the proxy settings and activate proxy in IE. But once I am home, have to again navigate to the proxy settings and de-activate it.

I am having a problem in that IE7 appears to be using DNS before the HOSTS file during name resolution. This is backwards or opposite from how the system (Windows XP) processes name resolution.

has anyone tried to install ie7 along with hotfixes without a reboot in between? we find the hotfixes won't install unless iexplore.exe has been replace with 7.x, which happens only after a reboot. thanks.
