Every time I start the explorer I get a message that the "gen_toolbar" can not find it's configuration file. What is the gen_toolbar? How can I get rid of that?

Ive been going in circles trying to figure out a solution to this problem. The problem is that any media files that are supposed to be launched automatically from the URL come up with the message "Navigation to the webpage was canceled", and it doesn't even launch

Recently all my IE7 icons in the tab and in the address bar have gone funny. For example, ebay now shows a light bulb, and Yahoo! a bag of golf clubs. It's not all of them, for example wikipedia and dell are fine. What can I do? Should I re-install IE?
