This happens after each reboot. The proxy server setting is greyed out and the only way to make changes to the proxy server address is to go to Advanced and make the changes there. Still any changes is lost after each reboot. Any idea why?

Vista Home Premium on HP desktop 4 months of no problem, then browsing capability stopped approx. 10 days ago (prior to security Tuesday). Following restart, I can typically get to 1-2 web sites, then IE hangs and I eventually get the "IE has stopped working..."
