Don't ask me how I did it 'cuz I really don't know.  But somehow I have

Every time I open a web page a new tab opens displaying an advertisement. It

Until recently when I would browse in my web-browser, a link to a page that
I had not looked at (in this case news articles I use for my work) would be
blue and after I looked at them they would turn purple. They would not reset
for weeks or maybe months.  

For example, when I'm on Craigslist and I click on an ad, then click back to
the list of ads, the ads I've previously viewed are a different color than
those I've not viewed. IE suddenly  stopped doing that. I went to
tools/internetoptions/advanced and hit "reset" but that didn't ...

Using IE7, looking at webmail, I am unable to see attached images displayed
in email. Checking my webmail on a different computer, using IE7, this

I have a weird problem with IE7 on XP SP2.  When I right-click on a
link, and select "open in new tab", new tab appears, address of the
page shows in the tab's title, but the page never loads.  I have to
click on stop and reload to get there.
