How do you vertically center the content in a table cell in IE8 "standard mode". Neither TD VALIGN=middle nor style="vertcal-agiln:middle" works in "standards mode". Why?

When you start a PRE block in IE8 in "standards mode" you get an extra blank line before the text. Why? Does the standard say anywhere that there should be an extra line? How can one prevent that (if I remove the line above

Why does IE8 always show the scrollbars for a frame even when "scrolling=auto" is set when in "standards mode". They are off if "scrolling=no". Doesn't "scrolling=auto" exist in "standards mode"

When I stream radio stations that use WMP I get no sound. Problem just started this week. The stream shows that it is streaming but I get no sound. I am able to listen to radio stations that use a Flash player. I am trying to listen to the follwing stations:

I have connected to the internet according to my internet provider, and can only access pages when I enter to the ip address. I have tried flushing the dns and that has not helped. Please give me some advice or something to fix the mess
