I am posting this here since there is nowhere else suitable either. Recently lightning has burned out my computer through a telephone broadband connection to the computer. Is there something available to prevent another such damage, as there is for electrical supply?

I run IE7 on XP and experience difficulties navigating between websites? IE7 fires up ok and the initial 'window' works fine. However, if I try to open a second 'window' (would normally come up blank) within the same IE7 session, the whole session locks up with 'Not responding'.

i've also had the same problem with numerous web sites freezing, and then not being able to close the window. is this a vista problem? and is it fixable?
